Can we all have street parties on the royal wedding day in April, please? I'm bored of it all already but I am massively nostalgic for trestle tables, red white and blue bunting, victoria sponges, old dears in their best red clothes and kids with bad pudding bowl haircuts waving tiny plastic union jack flags. How immense is this first party scene? It's the 1977 Silver Jubilee party in the Otterham and St Juliot Hall in Cornwall.

Happy New Year, folks! I hope you all had a fantastic festive season, Christmas, New Year, whatever you've been up to for the last two weeks. I'm sorry I've been neglecting you. I have been busy. Work is bonkers (worked right up to Christmas Eve), dived up to Yorkshire for a couple of days (which was lovely, give or take a bit of family illness), hung out in London a bit (went to the zoo, spider monkeys are my new favourite beast), then out for New Year's Eve (I think 2011 is going to be a good year).
And now -- I have to move house by the 28th January. I haven't found a new place yet and I haven't started packing either. And I'm back to work in two days. So, if you'll forgive me, I'm off again. If you know of any lovely flats to rent in London that welcome extremely cute and perfect cats (and humans, yes that's me), please let me know! Wish me luck! And again, Happy New Year! (Sorry about all the brackets in this post.)
