Each day is Valentine's Day.

I know that the popular modern opinion is that we're supposed to make time for our relationships as a matter of course and that Valentine's Day is silly, a day created for the sole purpose of selling heart shaped balloons and raising prices in restaurants.

But I celebrate Saint Valentine's Day. I see no problem with having a day dedicated to being shmoopy. Plus it was my grandparents' wedding day, back in 1942. Do you celebrate it?

Have a fabulous weekend, peeps!

  4. Yes we are celebrating it.

The husband will be in Dundee and I will be in London.

Although naturally I am expecting hundreds of blooms to be delivered to the flat whilst I sit alone pining.

And naturally I shall be disappointed.

  6. the idea that each day is Valentine's Day is truly horrific. Even for someone as miserabilist as I, the thought that every day could be filled with such bilious, festering misery is just a bit too much.

  9. What a wonderful photograph! I'm afraid that I'm a V-day humbug, but I did crack & buy a half-price bottle of pink champagne in M&S this evening...

  10. First, that is so sweet about your grandparents! Thanks for sharing their picture. Secondly, I've always celebrated Valentine's Day, probably because my family makes such a big deal about it. (To this day, we still gather for dinner and exchange presents!) But I think it's more about being festive than about the actual holiday. As for my bf and I, we'll do dinner and a movie. Which is nice, because although it's nothing crazy, we'll be spending time together. Not that we don't spend time together otherwise, but you know what I mean.
